Bessie Gray Obituary | Bessie Gray Passed Away

Bessie Lynch Gray, 70, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Four Seasons Palliative Care.  She was a native of Henderson County.  She was the daughter of the late Howard and Bessie Lynch.  She was employed as a cook at several restaurants.

Bessie enjoyed working for the Sheltered Workshop where her bubbly personality brought a smile to many.  She had an infectious love for everyone she met.  She volunteered her time to bring joy to so many.  Bessie loved cooking and was passionate about feeding many friends and family with her famous mac and cheese.  She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren.  Like most grandmothers, she didn’t hesitate to tell it like she saw it!  She was a loving aunt who became like a second mom to many of her nieces and nephews.  Bessie was also passionate about dancing and could dance like no one else.  She would dance all night to her rhythm and blues collections.  Bessie’s love of music extended to the piano where she would play the keys off of a piano. While she resembled Diana Ross, many didn’t know she could give Diana Ross a run for her money especially when she got a microphone in her hand!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Anthony Lynch; brothers, Clifford Lynch, Jr., Willis Lynch; sisters, Annette Summey, Helen Darity, Virginia Edgerton, Evelyn Allen.

Left to cherish her memory are brothers, Michael Lynch (Cynthia), Wade Lynch, Illar Lynch (Denise); sisters, Euretta Williamson, Lucille Carthens, Beulah Landrum (Leroy), Peggy Lynch, Gloria Simmons; grandchildren, Quentin Robinson, Justin Lynch, MaKenzie Lynch, Sidney Frady, Sasha Frady; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.

Bessie loved her sisters and brothers with all her heart.  They knew when she wanted her space, she really wanted her space.  They will cherish the memories of their sweet and loving sister.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, December 31, 2021, at Hendersonville First Church of Nazarene. Public viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
